TiVo up and running
I finally got the cable company out here to "install" the cable cards so my new TiVo works! In fact I'm watching it right now. It can record 2 shows at once! I'm glad it finally works! I also have a brand new cable connection upstairs in my bedroom and tonight I'll move my series 2 TiVo up there. 2 working TiVo's, the ability to record 3 shows at once. Could life be better?

So, why does Tivo need a "cable card" to work? I'm having the same issue, and need to get one installed, too.
The new Series 3 TiVo's only work with cable cards. You can't even have satellite with them. It's crazy that you need someone to "install" it since you just need to slide the card into the slot and then call the cable company and have it activated. I'm so glad mine is finally working!
